Airbus: Asia-Pacific Aviation Services Market Set for Rapid Growth
Airbus says the aviation market in the Asia-Pacific region will continue to expand, forecasting average annual growth of 5.2% through 2044, reaching a value of $138.7 billion. Rising air traffic and expanding aircraft fleets will be the main drivers of this growth. Over the next 20 years, the region is expected to need 19,560 new passenger aircraft.
The region is also projected to remain the world’s fastest-growing air transport market, with annual passenger traffic growth of 4.4%. According to Airbus, maintenance services, aircraft modifications, digitalization, and training will play a critical role in this expansion.
While digitalization and AI-powered solutions will boost operational efficiency, it is estimated that more than 1 million new aviation professionals will be needed by 2044 to support industry growth. Ground handling and maintenance support services are also expected to grow rapidly alongside automation and digital transformation.
